Carol-Ann, CPA, FCCA, CGFM, CGMA was recognized by National Association of Black Accountants as the Accounting Leader of the Year on May 3. On May 8 Boothe was recognized as an outstanding board member by the Association of Government Accountants with the Special Achievement Award, both for going above and beyond.

Boothe is a Senior Manager in the Risk Management Independence Group for KPMG, and is currently providing assistance to public entities on initial public offerings and secondary offerings; conducting due diligence on firm acquisitions, including reviews and evaluation of business combination considerations; conducting review of and approving new services offered by KPMG to relevant clients; and conducting internal quality control review of non-audit services provided by the firm to ensure they are permissible under the relevant international and US authoritative legislation. Prior to that, Boothe was a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Federal Audit Practice in the Washington, DC office, and worked in KPMG’s London, UK and Kingston, Jamaica Offices. She has been actively involved in recruiting and a member of the KPMG African American Network. Boothe was an instructor in the KPMG National Training Program and also developed KPMG National training courses. Boothe was also a Sampling Specialist, and has been involved in the internal KPMG quality review program as a reviewer.

Outside of work, Boothe is Chair of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) USA Chapter Network and ACCA Washington DC Chapter Head, and is active member of the National Association for Black Accountants (NABA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and in the process of increase her involvement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.

Boothe has also been the Education Director of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Montgomery/Prince Georges Chapter, and took the initiative and successfully obtained approval from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) for the ACCA and AGA CPE/CPD courses to be NASBA certified. Boothe also served as Past Treasurer and President of the ACCA Women’s Society South East Division in London, UK. Her dedication to KPMG, ACCA, AGA and NABA has led her to being the recipient of several cash incentives and awards for the past 4 years from AGA. Carol-Ann is also a part-time Becker CPA Instructor, and has also been a mentor to ACCA students in Jamaica, London and the USA, which has led to success in their examinations. She also assisted ACCA and NABA members and CPA graduates in finding employment.

Boothe holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Technology in Jamaica and the Manchester Business School in the UK. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia, Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia; Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; Chartered Government Financial Manager; and Certified Global Management Accountant.
